Gut für kurze Aufenthalte

The bed was spacious and clean! The place is called StarBox hostel which would have been easier to find for foreigners. The staff are not that good at English but friendly. The entrance of the building has security guard for the elevator, they will open the entrance door every time. I say the place is clean and good enough for a short stay. The location is not that far from a subway station.

I got a bed in dorm which is right in front of the reception and the only bathroom and shower is right next to their desk! He said another was under construction! By the way, there is ATM right across from the entrance door, on the other side of the street, there is no need to go to the 7/11 and pay extra charge. They don't accept cards, I had to pay cash, and they recommended 7/11 !

It was a great stay for me and the value or the price of my stay is by far the cheapest one I had!

I like how it was near to the Taipei Main Station. Near to the nearest NingXia Night Market. It's convenient to any places you'll go in Taiwan.

I think I'm more concerned about the basin/sink or even the toilet itself as there is only one toilet and you have to wait for your turn before you can use it

The place was in a nice building (but was a bit confusing to get in to). The bed was comfortable. The place was quiet for sleeping. The staff inside was helpful. They let us check in early. Small towels were provided.

When we arrived at the building, the doorman didn't want to let us in. He wanted us to call the hostel, but we don't have an international calling plan, and it was a bit confusing to get just into the building. The hostel is part of a larger business building, and once we were in it was fine, but confusing getting there. The bathroom had only 1 toilet and 2 showers. All a bit snug, and not a great setup for storing stuff while you showered. The bed had some hairs left in it before our arrival.

We were happy given a room instead of 2 double bed in a bunk. The reception guy allowed us to keep our luggage in a locker after checked out

Not close to the toilet and shower. It seems that they don’t clean the toilet trash everyday and it doesn’t smell good on the last day when I check out.

The viewing of the lounge is fantastic. The bedroom and lounge are immaculate.

The front desk girl who has long hair always plays the game by phone while She is working. When I asked her, she was in a bad temper because she couldn't continue her game.

Good enough for a day or two

The bed was confortable, with outlets and personal lights, big enough and with privacy. The area around the hostel was great Even if it was a pretty big dormitory, it was quiet

Everytime we used the common areas, they were dirty, either it was the showers, restrooms or living area. No hot water in a shower, probably broken as the others were fine. A small locker for two people, too small for two travel backpacks, probably not big enough for one suitcase. No friendly atmosphere like other hostels, even though we had to see the staff often due to the fact they had to collect us at the entrance to use the elevator, they weren’t very friendly (nor rude, just absent)

Overall, the hostel offers good value for the money paid.

The receptionist I met on the night of arrival was pleasantly friendly and helpful; there’s an area with large dressing mirrors and some seats in the bathroom, which is quite convenient if you want to floss teeth, blow dry hair or rub on some lotion before and after shower. I was offered the lower bunk bed as I requested. Lastly, the hostel was within easy walking distance from Zhongshan MRT and for those who enjoy walks, it’s awesome because from Zhongshan MRT, you can also walk to the main station via the underground passage. You’ll find shops and access to public toilets along the passage, too.

The other receptionist I met on the next morning of my stay was a bit rude as he appeared to be silent unnaturally and intentionally when I bid good morning and was the only guest using the breakfast area. The bed was quite spacious; however, the mattress was either too small or of questionable quality. I was literally slipping off the mattress in the middle of the night and this kept me from having a restful night. I’ve stayed in a few hostels in Taipei and I had not any “falling off the mattress” experience at all before.
